This Privacy Policy describes how Botlix ("we," "our," or "the service") collects, uses, and handles your information when you use our chatbot service at botlix.org.

Information We Collect

When you use Botlix, we may store:

• Chat messages — The conversations you have with the bot are saved in our database so you can return to them later.
• Memory facts — Information you ask the bot to remember about you, stored to personalize future conversations.
• Approximate location — If you grant permission, your browser may share your latitude/longitude with the bot so it can give location-aware answers (like local weather). This is used only for the current message and is not stored.
• Time zone — Sent automatically by your browser so the bot can give time-aware answers.

How Your Data Is Used

Your messages are sent to AI model providers (such as OpenRouter, Groq, Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) to generate responses. These providers may have their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data, show advertisements, or share your conversations with third parties beyond what is necessary to provide the AI responses.

Data Storage and Security

Chat history and memory facts are stored on our servers (currently hosted by Render). Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in a database. We use reasonable security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You can:

• Delete any chat at any time from the sidebar menu.
• Clear all stored memory facts from the Memory panel.
• Request complete deletion of all your data by contacting us.

Children

Botlix is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Third-Party Services

Botlix uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

• AI Model Providers — Messages are sent to providers like OpenRouter, Groq, or others to generate responses.
• OpenWeather — Used to fetch weather data when you ask about weather.
• Render — Hosts the service and the database.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above.
